If you’ve ever heard people involved in the tech world talk about an app or a website, you’ve definitely heard or seen the words UI and UX design before.

UI and UX design stand for User Interface and User Experience Design. As very obviously stated from the name, this is the type of design work a programmer or a designer will have to do in order to make sure that all the interactions that a user from the outside has will be good and will give them a great understanding of your website or your app. That includes whether the design is aesthetically pleasing, and if it’s easy for the user to find the specific features that you offer and they ask for.

The user interface needs to be as modern as possible, using features that are related to latest trends that could push the user to interact with the website or the application. The colors and the type of font which are used in the design are extremely important as that sets the mood of the page and it needs to match with the mood of the users.

You could offer amazing solutions for a lot of problems, something that people absolutely want or maybe even need, but unless a user's interaction and experience with your website is at the least a decent one, your product will never survive in the market.

On the other hand, if your app or website offers a service or a solution which has competition in the market, you need to make sure that it stands out. Pricing of your service or product needs to be appropriate, extra features, accessibility by a large number of people or the entirety of your target group or market and so on.

Here is also where first impressions matter more than anything else. When a potential customer first sets eyes on your website, that’s where it’s most likely to either make or break it.

There are three main things you need to consider when trying to build a website or an application:

1. You have between 10 to 15 seconds to catch the attention of a first time visitor.
2. Smooth interaction with the user will keep them there, and allow advertising of your services and products.
3. Good performances and interface will increase the interactions and profits on your website.

Taking into account your target groups, the type of your product and service, also the mood of the user accessing your page based on the product or service you offer, the design needs to be structured a certain way.

The interface needs to be as modern as possible, using features that are related to latest trends that could push the user to interact with the website or the application. The colors and the type of font which are used in the design are extremely important as that sets the mood of the page and it needs to match with the mood of the users.

This part is where you'll get the user hooked, you need to keep the user there for a bit longer so your product or your service sells, or even includes ads.

The user experience firstly needs to be created and based on who your customers are. Knowing who you’re selling to will set some limits and boundaries on how you will proceed with the UX design, as you can’t create a website with a target audience of the ages 20 to 30 the same way as a website that offers products or services for people above the age of 60. With achieving that, you can boost customer acquisition, achieve high retention rates, build customer trust and loyalty and increase brand recognition.

Things we recommend that definitely need to be taken into consideration when working on the UX and UI design stage are:
1. Personalizing the experience of your customers
2. Design thinking that the devices where your customers will check out your app or your website or their network can have interruptions, so you need to create good flow of functions even if the device goes temporary offline
3. Less is more. Overworking your design with different types of fonts, very bright colors or a large amount of interactive features can only overwhelm the customer experience.

In conclusion, UX/UI design is an extremely important part of the success of your business, app or website. Considering everything is being digitized nowadays, even if you’re not creating an app for yourself and you only have a product to sell, you need to know the basics of website design, just so you have a better way of interacting with and understanding your buyers.
